WHO IS ELIGIBLE: 

Active Members - Any active senior editor and any news executive of a daily or weekly newspaper, including a newspaper editor, an executive editor, a managing editor and an editor-publisher, as well as a wire service news executive and such other persons performing substantially similar functions as may be determined by the board of directors of the Association. This will include editors of sections, news editors, assignment editors, and copy desk chiefs. 

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS - CANE will also accept individuals as Associate Members. These may include editors of periodicals, magazines and new media ventures, journalism educators, individuals formerly engaged as senior editors of dailies and weeklies, and people whose work provides a supporting role to newspapers (law firms, press councils, newspaper groups, syndicates and suppliers. They would not have voting privileges nor would they run for office in CANE.
